Support Homeless Veterans (SHV) is group of dedicated individuals who come from all walks of life. They share the same goal of devoting their lives to helping Military Veterans in any way possible. Determined and fearless, SHV has come together to help homeless Veterans take back the pride and dignity that they have lost through their struggle. Fueled by our love and passion for United States Military Veterans, we are standing strong to support them and advocate with and for them in their time of need.

We are a movement that calls on the common people of the United States of America to come together as an army of civilians to SUPPORT THE VETERANS!

We believe that American Veterans are the heart and soul of our nation. To have a single one of them going without food, housing, proper clothing, hygiene products, and appropriate clinical treatment is an OUTRAGE!

Civilians are often in search of a way to give back to the Veterans and get involved, but have a hard time figuring out how. This is our chance to stand up and make a statement that THE PEOPLE WILL NOT REST UNTIL THE VETERANS ARE FREE!

Penn State alumna’s nonprofit harbors homeless veterans

February 07, 2017

MEDIA, Pa. — After earning her bachelor's degree in human development and family studies from the Brandywine campus, Penn State alumna Cara Colantuono went on to start Support Homeless Veterans (SHV) — a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending homelessness among U.S. veterans in the Philadelphia region.

“I believe that our veterans are the heart and soul of this nation,” Colantuono said. “Thanking veterans for their service isn’t enough. We can’t expect men and women who have spent years in military systems to simply adjust to civilian life — it’s really up to our communities to care for them.”
